[2022.10.12] Cammsys (CEO Youngtae Park), an IT Parts and camera module company is targeting the battery market which is considered one of the key areas in the future automobile market. The company announced on the 12th that CAMMSYS has completed its development of an electric vehicle battery diagnostic kit. The device was made based on ultrasonic technology through their FM (Future Matrix) division, testing it for commercialization with domestic and foreign battery companies.

This ultrasound diagnostic kit features accurate detect changes in the physical state inside the battery. Since the ultrasound diagnosis solution understands data through a vibration signal, it has higher accuracy than the conventional method of checking the calculated value through an external terminal. In addition, the kit can identify issues such as battery life and defects through the accumulated data. This function is expected to be a great help improving battery safety

Cammsys has acquired two technology patents in the product to secure technology protection and reliability. If this device technology gets developed to a verified level and easily applied to the vehicle, it is possible to collaborate with electric vehicle battery companies and other various electric vehicle companies, including Cevo Mobility, a EV subsidiary of Cammsys.

"The development of this equipment is meaningful to newly applied ultrasonic source technology in the battery field, which is the core of the 4th industrial revolution," said Youngtae Park, CEO of CAMMSYS. Adding, “We have recently supplied a prototype of a diagnostic kit to one of the nation’s leading battery companies. The successful development of the kit will be a crucial stepping stone for our other business portfolio, which runs businesses related to camera modules and mini electric vehicles.”

According to a market research company, ‘Market Study Report’ stated that “In recent years, the demand significantly increased for manufacturing equipment and measuring devices. These items use for improving the performance and safety of secondary batteries. The global market has expected the field growth to 13.3% annually, from $5.01 billion in 2019 to $7.179 billion in 2025.

To enhance the diagnostic kit’s performance, CAMMSYS merged ‘BEFS’(a subsidiary company of CAMMSYS specializing in biometric information security) and turned it into the companies’ FM division in April 2021 to maximize the internal synergy of the company’s research, development, and sales. Currently, the FM division has several technologies and modules related to the ultrasonic sensor, working to develop them into commercialized models that can apply to various industrial fields.
